Cisco Live, the premier event for IT professionals and networking enthusiasts, is heading to Las Vegas from June 4-8th. This annual gathering offers an incredible opportunity to learn, collaborate, and gain insights into the latest trends in the industry.
In this article, we’ll delve into the highlights from previous Cisco Live events, discuss what you can expect from this year’s convention, and provide valuable information about the keynote programme, labs and seminars. Let’s get started.
The 2023 EMEA (Europe, Middle East, and Africa) event was a resounding success. Hosted in Amsterdam (February 6-11, 2023) again, it brought together industry professionals from various regions, who attended sessions focused on topics such as security, cloud, and data centre. There were also inspiring keynotes from prominent speakers, including Cisco executives and industry thought leaders, providing valuable insights into the current state and future of the IT landscape.
The event had a strong focus on simplicity, security and sustainability, three vital aspects that the entire industry is paying close attention to. Cisco announced a few new products including their new Full-Stack Observability Platform – an AI driven tool which allows teams to bring together telemetry data from their entire IT estate to spot trends and vulnerabilities. The company also announced innovations to their Meraki offering to help customers simplify their operations. This is accomplished by using their new tools for IoT applications through simplified dashboards.
Also, Cisco stated their new goal to train 10 million people across EMEA in digital and cybersecurity skills over the next 10 years through its Network Academy program.
Previously, and after two years of virtual events, Cisco Live 2022 (June 13-16, 2022) was once again back in-person. Coming to Las Vegas, over 15,000 attendees descended on the conference to learn about several new products and connect with like minded individuals. With its focus on digitisation, innovation, and the future of work, the event provided an excellent platform for attendees to stay ahead of the curve and embrace the latest trends in the industry. This was also the company’s first hybrid Cisco Live, allowing customers all over the world to tune in.
A big piece of news to come out of Las Vegas was the integration of Cisco Catalyst with Meraki, allowing for simplified network management. There was a focus on the API-centric future and SVP Liz Centoni took to the stage to announce Calisiti (Cisco Service Mesh Manager) for managing microservices in complex, multi-cloud environments and Panoptica (Cisco Secure Application Cloud) for increased cloud-native security.
These keynotes will cover a wide range of topics, including the latest advancements in networking, security, and cloud computing, providing a comprehensive overview of the current state and future direction of the IT industry. Currently there are two keynotes being advertised on the Cisco Live website, these are “Vision for the Future” (Tuesday, June 6
8:30 – 10 a.m. PT) and “Let’s Go” (Wednesday, June 7 8:30 – 10 a.m. PT).
There will also be customer guests including the Senior VP of Security at NFL, Cathay Lanier who will be sharing insights and strategies. To provide added entertainment, seven-time Grammy nominated comedian, actor and writer Jim Gaffigan will be making an appearance. More details on the programme can be found here – Keynotes and Innovation Talks – Cisco Live 2023 Las Vegas.
Cisco Live 2023 Las Vegas will also offer a diverse range of labs and sessions, catering to various interests and skill levels. Attendees can expect to gain insights into topics such as network and data centre transformation, security best practices, and emerging technologies like artificial intelligence and machine learning. These sessions will equip participants with valuable knowledge and skills, empowering them to drive innovation and success in their organisations.
A significant highlight of the Las Vegas event will be the Cisco Meraki and DevNet sessions. With development and automation in mind, the DevNet Zone is a place attendees can visit to learn, code and connect allowing further innovation of Cisco technologies. Cisco experts are there to deliver demos, sandboxes, technical sessions and answer any questions you might have. This is targeted at engineers who want to write and develop integrations with Cisco products, platforms and APIs.
Meraki will be taking over the DevNet Zone on Wednesday June 7th to host workshops, classroom sessions and giveaways. These sessions will offer attendees an in-depth look at the latest innovations in cloud-managed IT and software development. The following DevNet sessions will be available from June 5-8th:
